IMG_5100How To Keep Toilet Bacteria From Getting Into Your Mouth!

When you flush the toilet with the lid open, it can spray up to 10 inches in the air, getting spray on and around the area of the toilet itself.  If you have a small bathroom, and your toilet is near your sink, you may be getting harmful vomit and diarrhea causing bacteria all over your toothbrush.

The best way to prevent this, is to put the lid down when you flush.  Your mouth itself is full of millions of bacteria germs that go from your mouth to your toothbrush and back again.

A great sanitation method for your toothbrush is to store it in a cup of diluted hydrogen peroxide.  It will kill any bacteria that may be on the brush after washing it, and also keep it from getting any of the bacteria from the toilet flush.  You will want…

DIY Nail Whitening Treatments

PROMAKEUPME

Main Image

I don’t know about you guys, but even when I am very diligent, and ALWAYS use a clear base coat before I apply my colour/s – to prevent the staining of my nails – constant wear of dark coloured nail polish inevitably eventually leaves me with some yellowing of my nails.

And although no one can see these yellow stains while I am wearing my bright coloured polishes, it becomes a problem when I want to do a lighter or a French Mani

So here are a couple of DIY nail whitening treatments that I have tried out:

My preferred method is a Lemon juice and Baking Soda Paste:

Ingredients:

  • Lemon juice – one and a half tablespoons
  • Baking soda – one and a half tablespoons (or add more until you get a thick enough paste)

Method:

  1. Remove all nail polish from your nails
  2. Wash and then soak your nails in luke-warm soapy water for about 10 to 15…

How to Save a Life

life's journey

So.  My dog.

Really, he was not meant to be my dog.  I am not even a dog person.  But, in the end, he is my dog.

Tyler joined our family in 2006.  He wasn’t the dog we were supposed to get.  The dog we were supposed to get was a black lab and his name was going to be Magic Bubbles Puppy, or something to that effect, named by our daughter, who was 4 at the time.  Instead of a black Magic Bubbles Puppy, we got a blond Tyler.  The dog breeder did not have any black labs, only black labradoodles.  We did not want a labradoodle, so we settled for the yellow lab.  And thankfully we managed to convince her to change his name.

Gray Hair, Root Causes and Possible Reversal ( Video )

ClinicalNews.Org

( This report is Technical )

No longer a gray area: Our hair bleaches itself as we grow older and how it may be reversed.

Going gray is caused by a massive build up of hydrogen peroxide due to wear and tear of our hair follicles. The peroxide winds up blocking the normal synthesis of melanin, our hair’s natural pigment.

“All of our hair cells make a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide, but as we get older, this little bit becomes a lot. We bleach our hair pigment from within, and our hair turns gray and then white.

The researchers made this discovery by examining cell cultures of human hair follicles. They found that the build up of hydrogen peroxide was caused by a reduction of an enzyme that breaks up hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen (catalase). They also discovered that hair follicles could not repair the damage caused…

5 Must Have Natural Cleaning Products

My Natural Way of Life

I try to keep my cleaning supplies to a minimum. Having a different product for every type of cleaning is excessive and cumbersome. I also try to avoid chemicals when possible. I don’t like the thought of using cleaning supplies that could harm my family or my cats. And why would I use these things when I can get what I need with common, natural products?

Did you know that the skin absorbs most of what we put on it? I find it strange that it’s acceptable to use harsh chemicals on our bodies that we would never eat. If we are absorbing it anyway, what’s the difference?
